Three ways, actually.
At English club on Tuesday, someone pointed to something sticking out of my bag and asked me what it was. I said, "That...is a banana." Nooo - that was a bandana. Shucks - and this is in my native tongue. (This happens a lot, but when it's in front of people wanting to improve in English, it's just plain ol' embarrassing).
Yesterday in a conversation in English, a guy said, "My brother is a liar - a very good liar. I think he will be a very famous liar someday." Hee hee hee - ha ha ha. What he meant to say was "lawyer." I took the opportunity to laugh out loud and feel good about myself as I've made more than my share of language confuzzels. It's just nice to know that I'm not the only one :P
