I can't get over how many squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits there are here. I guess people aren't all that hungry or there aren't any/many/enough predators or my mother isn't around with her 22 to protect the gardens.
It's fun, though, to go on jogs and see cardinals, yellow finches, blue jays, robins, egrets, and a whole host of other birds I can't identify. I feel like I'm waltzing through a Disney movie with so many fluttering things in motion.
In other news, there's been talk around my block of a "cougar sighting" - but experts are almost positive it's impossible.
