This happened several weeks ago, but I keep bringing it up. I decided to post it here to release it out of my system...and move on :)
I was with a friend in a semi-new clothing store. While she was browsing, I decided to do something a little wild...and brouse, too. [I've had next to no luck with clothes here - the few articles I've bought have shrunk unevenly, gotten holes right away, and are in pretty sad shape.] Like in most stores around these parts, all of the shirts displayed in this particular store were size Kosovar girl (ie: narrow and itty bitty), so I decided to ask if there were any Roberta-sized shirts. The store clerk gave my body a quizzical look up and down. Then he said - in English - "We do not have nothing for you because you have the body of a man."
I'm sure my jaw dropped and I stared like a fool. To all of those in retail out there...that's not how to attract customers.

He lies! You are a lovely woman! But I can relate from my times in Thailand... no jeans for Jessie. Good thing I've moved to Africa where being "voluptuous" is a selling point- I'm worth more goats! =)
